PRELIMINARY INTAKE

Request an introductory call.

Provide the information the firm needs to identify the matter, run a preliminary conflict check, and understand whether a deadline may be approaching.

The preliminary intake helps the firm understand the general issue, identify deadlines, and begin a conflict check. It does not provide legal advice and does not create an attorney-client relationship.

AFTER YOU SUBMIT

What happens next.

01

Preliminary review

Authorised firm personnel review the names, the issue, and any deadline information you provided.

02

Conflict and fit check

The firm determines whether it can discuss the matter further and what kind of introductory discussion is appropriate.

03

Written engagement if accepted

No representation begins unless the firm confirms acceptance and the attorney and client sign a written engagement agreement.

What contacting the firm does not do

Sending a message, submitting the intake form, or speaking with the firm does not create an attorney-client relationship, does not mean Yes Legal has accepted your matter, does not guarantee any outcome, and does not protect or extend a filing deadline. Representation begins only after conflicts are cleared and a written engagement agreement is signed.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Questions about this form.

Does submitting this form mean the firm has taken my case?

No. It means the firm has received your information. Yes Legal has not accepted your matter, no attorney-client relationship exists, and no deadline is protected by submitting it.

Representation begins only after conflicts are cleared and a written engagement agreement is signed by both the attorney and the client.

Why do you need the names of the other people involved?

To run a conflict check. A law firm cannot discuss the substance of a matter until it has confirmed it does not already act for someone on the other side. Without those names the firm cannot take the conversation any further.

How quickly will someone respond?

The firm does not commit to a response time on this page, because a promise it cannot keep is worse than no promise. If a date is approaching, call (619) 491-7076 rather than waiting, and contact another attorney promptly if you cannot reach the firm.

Should I attach my documents?

Not yet. This form does not accept attachments by design. Wait until the firm has run a conflict check and asked you for specific documents. Material sent beforehand may not be protected.

What if I do not know the answers?

Answer what you can. "Unsure" is a valid answer to the deadline and documents questions, and a rough description of what happened is more useful than no contact at all.
