Full representation is not always proportionate to the problem, and the cost of it stops people getting help they would benefit from. The alternative many choose is doing everything alone, including the parts where a mistake is expensive and permanent.
Limited-scope work sits between the two. You handle what you can reasonably handle, and counsel covers the specific stage where the risk is concentrated.

The task, the deliverable, the timing, and the price are agreed in writing before work begins.
Assess first if the scope is unclear
Where it is not yet obvious which part needs counsel, a defined assessment answers that question first.
Extend only by agreement
If the matter grows beyond the agreed task, any additional work requires a further written agreement. Scope does not expand silently.
What contacting the firm does not do
Sending a message, submitting the intake form, or speaking with the firm does not create an attorney-client relationship, does not mean Yes Legal has accepted your matter, does not guarantee any outcome, and does not protect or extend a filing deadline. Representation begins only after conflicts are cleared and a written engagement agreement is signed.

Questions people ask about this.
What happens if the matter turns out to be bigger than the agreed task?
The firm tells you, and you decide. Work outside the agreed scope requires a separate written agreement. You will not receive an invoice for work you did not agree to.
Is limited-scope work available in every kind of matter?
No. Some matters cannot sensibly be divided, and some forums place limits on it. Whether it suits your situation is one of the things an introductory call is for.
Does limited-scope work mean less care?
No. It means a narrower brief. The work inside the boundary is done to the same standard as any other engagement.
